Pastrana lands new World Record!
Posted on Thursday, December 31st, 2009
Well Travis isn’t a stranger to going big – Double Backflip, TP Roll, 10 years of dominance in the FMX scene not to mention a few Motocross chapionships in the mix too! Well Travis has finally done something huge with a Rally car. He flew his Subaru WRX 269ft to safely land a new world record!
Travis hit the take off ramp at roughly ninety miles per hour and flew for a good 5 seconds, probably the slowest 5 seconds of Travis life, but landed relatively safely, if you call slamming into concrete barrier a safe stop. Travis went a little too far on the jump, and didn’t have enough distance or grip to stop saying the landing barge was “Slick as ice” to ESPN announcer Tes Sewell.

Travis, going huge like always. The official jump distance was 269ft! Garth Milan/Red Bull Photofiles
Travis sounded like he was scared for just a moment when he hit the brakes and started sliding at over 50 mph, “putting it sideways” – probably to not totally destroy the car. He did however, in usual Pastrana fashion, start celebrating straight after, jumping out and climbing to the top of the barge to address the thousands of fans surrounding the jump from the water’s edge.
One thing was missing though – a backflip, which is when Travis decided to backflip himself off the barge, 4 stories up into the nice and cold water. Not to worry though, the emergency rescue crew consisting of jet skis, boats, divers and lift bags will take it as a success. This also makes it the 3rd successful year of Red Bull’s No Limits events – Robbie Maddison’s Long Jump on a Dirtbike, then in 2008 Robbie’s jump on and off a replica of the Arch de Triumph in Las Vegas with Rhys Milan (almost) backflipping a truck.
Now we will have to wait and see if fellow Subaru team mate and DC Shoes co-founder, Ken Block will step up and reclaim his record which Travis beat by 98 ft!

Travis In Sydney
Today Travis backflipped his Suzuki RM-250 over a helicopter to promote next years tour. Travis is set to return to Australia on May 7th for the first show in Brisbane until June. The last time Travis was in Australia he raced the Australian Supercross back in 2002. Unfortunately he crashed during that race.
Next year, Travis, Jolene, Andy and the rest of the Nitro Circus plus top freestyle motocross riders will team up for a 5 stop tour to all major Australian cities. Tickets for all the Nitro Circus shows are on sale now, see Nitro Circus Live for more details about the show.
Here is video of Travis doing the jump.
P.S. I’ve got my VIP tickets!
Travis returns to the ROC
Posted on Monday, October 19th, 2009
Travis is returning to the Race of Champions along side fellow Rally America driver Tanner Foust. It’s Travis’ 3rd time at the event, his previous entries were in 2003 and 2007. “I was bummed to miss out on the Race of Champions when I got hurt last year;” He had to miss last year due to a hip and knee injury however he can hopefully bring to the table 4 years of dominance in the Rally America championship.

Travis racing the ROC in 2007
Tanner Foust was Travis’ replacement last year and was his first year at the event. The ROC is where champions from a variety of motor sports gather to see who can become the champion of champions. The event has different types of cars for the tight stadium course. The year it is scheduled for the 3rd and 4th of November in Beijing.
Travis turns 26!
Posted on Thursday, October 8th, 2009
Today is the 8th of October 2009. And Travis is also 26 years old! It is quite something to look back at Travis life and see all of his accomplishments but even more amazing if his relatively short life thus far. Not many people, by the age of 26 have retired from 2 sports and started a new career, dominating them all.
travispastrana.net wishes Travis a fun filled birthday, if you want to see a sneak peak of Travis’ Brithday last year, watch ThrillBillies Double Wide for the big wheel race.
Read more about Travis’ life or perhaps review some of his results from Rally and Motocross.
Nitro Circus Season 2: Sneak Peek #2
Posted on Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Be sure to watch Nitro Circus on MTV, Thursdays at 10pm
Nitro Circus Season 2 is four episodes in and the crew have stepped up. It’s hard to imagine what Travis and the Nitro Circus will come up with next. Have a look at this loop-de-loop which may feature in coming episodes of Nitro Circus. It appears to be a grinding rail, yes, rails used in for grinding in such sports as BMX and Skate – shaped as a loop.
This is not the first time Nitro Circus has done stunts on loops, Jim Dechamp masterminded the Slip ‘n’ Die loop and the DC Mountain Lab Ski Loop in season 1. It will likely be used for a BMX bike; there is a fair sized gap between each rail. Stay tuned for new episodes of Nitro Circus on MTV, 10pm Thursdays!
Travis Pastrana lands the 720!

Travis attempting the 720 at X Games 15
Well this isn’t too big of a surprise but Travis has landed the first 720 on a dirt bike! As stated by Travis’ mom in 199 Lives, when Travis gets something in his head, he’ll do it as we’ve seen. No video has been released just yet, presumably it will be a feature of the next Nitro Circus film (like the Double Backflip was) or possibly an episode although they have finished filming for the TV Series.
The trick, also known as the Toilet Paper Roll, 720 Rodeo or Backflip 360 is fairly old as far as it’s creation. Travis first tried it in a Nitro Circus film and came close to landing it. It wasn’t until Travis’ fellow Subaru team mate, Dave Mirra, challenged Travis to perform a backflip 360 at X Games 15 which Mirra had previously done on a BMX bike.
The 720 is two tricks in one. The first part is an off axis backflip, better known as a 360. The second part is a perfect, BMX style 360. It can be considered a 720 since in the FMX world, an off axis backflip is considered a 360. The official name for it, is aptly, the TP Roll.
Now the only question is, will Travis return to X Games once more? You only have to wait 11 more months to find out!

Travis jumping his Rally Car for the 2006 X Games
Red Bull is the sponsor behind all big things; X Fighters and Des Nations for example. For the past 2 years they have done something huge on New Years Eve and now it’s Travis’ turn! Previously in 2007 Robbie Maddison set the Long Distance Jump Record on a Motorcycle and in 2008 Robbie and Rhys Millen set records for the Highest Jump on a Motorcycle and the First Backflip in a Truck (kind of) respectively.
This year Travis is still off the motorcycle and in the Rally Car for the longest jump ever! Subaru USA team member Ken Block is renown for his car jumping antics but it seems Travis wants a bit of the action! Travis plans to jump his Subaru WRX further than any man on this earth this New Years Eve. Red Bull No Limits will again air LIVE on ESPN. Check your local TV listings for the air times closer to the date.
