Travis In Sydney

Travis In Sydney

Today Travis backflipped his Suzuki RM-250 over a helicopter to promote next years tour. Travis is set to return to Australia onĀ  May 7th for the first show in Brisbane until June. The last time Travis was in Australia he raced the Australian Supercross back in 2002. Unfortunately he crashed during that race.

Next year, Travis, Jolene, Andy and the rest of the Nitro Circus plus top freestyle motocross riders will team up for a 5 stop tour to all major Australian cities. Tickets for all the Nitro Circus shows are on sale now, see Nitro Circus Live for more details about the show.

Here is video of Travis doing the jump.

P.S. I’ve got my VIP tickets!

Travis returns to the ROC

Posted on Monday, October 19th, 2009

Travis is returning to the Race of Champions along side fellow Rally America driver Tanner Foust. It’s Travis’ 3rd time at the event, his previous entries were in 2003 and 2007. “I was bummed to miss out on the Race of Champions when I got hurt last year;” He had to miss last year due to a hip and knee injury however he can hopefully bring to the table 4 years of dominance in the Rally America championship.

Tanner Foust was Travis’ replacement last year and was his first year at the event. The ROC is where champions from a variety of motor sports gather to see who can become the champion of champions. The event has different types of cars for the tight stadium course. The year it is scheduled for the 3rd and 4th of November in Beijing.

Travis turns 26!

Posted on Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Today is the 8th of October 2009. And Travis is also 26 years old! It is quite something to look back at Travis life and see all of his accomplishments but even more amazing if his relatively short life thus far. Not many people, by the age of 26 have retired from 2 sports and started a new career, dominating them all.

travispastrana.net wishes Travis a fun filled birthday, if you want to see a sneak peak of Travis’ Brithday last year, watch ThrillBillies Double Wide for the big wheel race.

Read more about Travis’ life or perhaps review some of his results from Rally and Motocross.

Nitro Circus Season 2: Sneak Peek #2

Be sure to watch Nitro Circus on MTV, Thursday at 10pm

Be sure to watch Nitro Circus on MTV, Thursdays at 10pm

Nitro Circus Season 2 is four episodes in and the crew have stepped up. It’s hard to imagine what Travis and the Nitro Circus will come up with next. Have a look at this loop-de-loop which may feature in coming episodes of Nitro Circus. It appears to be a grinding rail, yes, rails used in for grinding in such sports as BMX and Skate – shaped as a loop.

This is not the first time Nitro Circus has done stunts on loops, Jim Dechamp masterminded the Slip ‘n’ Die loop and the DC Mountain Lab Ski Loop in season 1. It will likely be used for a BMX bike; there is a fair sized gap between each rail. Stay tuned for new episodes of Nitro Circus on MTV, 10pm Thursdays!

Travis Pastrana lands the 720!

Travis attempting the 720 at X Games 15

Travis attempting the 720 at X Games 15

Well this isn’t too big of a surprise but Travis has landed the first 720 on a dirt bike! As stated by Travis’ mom in 199 Lives, when Travis gets something in his head, he’ll do it as we’ve seen. No video has been released just yet, presumably it will be a feature of the next Nitro Circus film (like the Double Backflip was) or possibly an episode although they have finished filming for the TV Series.

The trick, also known as the Toilet Paper Roll, 720 Rodeo or Backflip 360 is fairly old as far as it’s creation. Travis first tried it in a Nitro Circus film and came close to landing it. It wasn’t until Travis’ fellow Subaru team mate, Dave Mirra, challenged Travis to perform a backflip 360 at X Games 15 which Mirra had previously done on a BMX bike.

The 720 is two tricks in one. The first part is an off axis backflip, better known as a 360. The second part is a perfect, BMX style 360. It can be considered a 720 since in the FMX world, an off axis backflip is considered a 360. The official name for it, is aptly, the TP Roll.

Now the only question is, will Travis return to X Games once more? You only have to wait 11 more months to find out!

Travis wins 4th consecutive Rally America Title and Ojibwe!

Ken Blocks Car, rolled during Stage 3

Ken Blocks rolled his car during Stage 3

Travis Pastrana has sailed to victory once again, winning the Rally America series for the fourth year consecutively. There is still 2 rounds to go in the series before it officially ends but it is mathematically impossible for anyone else to win the championship.

Travis came into Ojibwe Forests Rally with the championship lead and left it with the championship. Fellow Subaru team mates, Ken Block and Dave Mirra weren’t as fortunate as Travis, Ken rolling his car during stage 3 and Dave Mirra DNFing. Travis had an 8 second lead over Andi Mancin securing the win.

Travis goes into the next two rounds of the Rally America championship with no pressure however Ken Block (3rd) will have to fight for second place against Andi Mancin (2nd) and ACP (4th) to salvage the rest of the championship.

Travis wins again!
