Nitro Circus

Nitro Circus

Good news for Pastrana/Nitro and FMX Fans alike. Global Action sports has announced recently that a Nitro Circus Tour will start during 2010. Travis has previously stated that he wasn’t too interested in a tour however since his retirement from anything motocross he has some spare time.

The headline act will of course be Travis and the Nitro Circus as well as other FMX stars. Hopefully this will see Travis back on the bike! Doing a tour/show isn’t too new to the Nitro Circus, they’ve done quite a few events in South America; you can see these in episodes of Nitro Circus.

The tour will roll through Australia between May and June, 2010 at 5 major Australian cities (Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth). Later that year the Nitro Circus will head to Europe.

The show is the product of Global Action Sport; these guys did the Crusty Tour and the Australiaian SuperX tour (co-owned by Chad Reed). Also, the Wasserman Media Group has also put their foot forward, they are the marketing team behind Travis and the Nitro Circus. The show is expected to be nothing more than expected with Global Action Sports CEO, Mike Porra stated “It is our ambition to create the ‘Cirque Du Soleil’ of action sports, which tours the world all year round. We believe Nitro Circus Live will transcend cultural boundaries, and like ‘Cirque’, it will be simply spectacular.”

Greg Godfrey added, “Nitro Circus is all about pushing yourself beyond your limits, and that’s what you’ll see at the live shows.”

So be sure to get your tickets!

Travis is going well at the fourth stop of the 2009 Rally America Championship. As of now, the 4th stage, Travis is 4 seconds behind Tanner Foust (1st) and 6 seconds in front of ACP and teammate, Ken Block. Travis’ results from previous seasons put him as a favourite, winning here last year however he bit the dust 2 years ago.

This is stage 4 of 16, so Travis still has 75% of the Rally to get a decent lead over the rest of the field. To receive live, stage-by-stage updates of the Rally, visit www.rallyamerica.com

Travis Wins Olympus Rally!

Posted on Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Just as everyone had hoped, Travis took out the Rally. This is the first time he has won this event, 3 rd time lucky. The first time (2007) he didn’t even make it to the finish and last year (2008) he walked away with second place. To be fair, ACP held his ground for most of the Rally however Travis broke away after the 10th stage after ACP he had his gearbox fault.

Bad news for Ken Block though, he had turbo troubles although Team Subaru USA fixed them although more problems arose with the car and he eventually pulled out. This means Travis moves up and Ken moves down since he got no points for this Rally. Travis still doesn’t have the championship lead yet, he is in 2nd place to ACP who was able to keep the top spot Perhaps Ken Block has a feeling of Deja vu, last year he had the same problems with cars and didn’t finish enough Rallies.

Championship Standings

  1. ACP
  2. Travis Pastrana
  3. Tanner Foust

Pastrana, Block and Subaru Rally Team USA Race Olympus Rally

Posted on Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Travis and fellow rallyteammate, Ken Block are just about to start the Olympus Rally. Hopefully Travis can get a decent result like last year, getting 2nd. The previous year to that he didn’t make it so this one is tricky for him. Before the rally he is tied for 3rd in the points with Ken Block, who are at 23 points. Currently first are Tanner Foust and ACP, also tied, currently at 31 points. Travis has a tough fight, Ken Block is probably the best driver, he just needs to keep the car on the track!
