Biography

As a childhood friend of Travis (since age 10), Jim has always been a part of the Nitro Circus crew. He has regularly been a producer and a cast member of the Nitro Circus films and has appeared in every episode of the Nitro Circus TV Series on MTV. He is a professional mountain bike rider by trade however his skills extend to base jumping (although he claims to be afraid of heights) and Big Wheel Racing. He is a one trick wonder in FMX, completing the first Motorcycle Front Flip to Dirt (RM 125 2-Stroke). His skills on a motorcycle often provide comic relief to the rest of the crew.

Jim is no stranger to injury, suffering multiple back injuries however this hasn’t kept Jim out of the stunts. Four months after crashing at X Games 15 attempting the first frontflip on a motorcycle, he did it during filming for the Guinness World Records episode of Nitro Circus on MTV. He also has a reputation of being an expert Big Wheel racer.

According to an interview by MTV Nitro Circus director, Jeff Tremaine, apparently the reason why Jim acts like a T-Rex during the introduction of the TV series is because he does the same maneuver when drunk. It’s his feature act during parties among his other talents on and off the bike.

Jim is a few years older than his sister, Jackie and has previously lived in Chicago , Cincinnati, Northern Virginia before moving to Annapolis and living a few blocks than Travis Pastrana.
