Pastrana injured at X Games 17; Schedule on hold.

Posted on Friday, July 29th, 2011

During the MotoX Best Trick at X Games 17, Travis Pastrana sustained an ankle and foot injury whilst attempting his 720/backflip combo dubbed the “TP Roll”. This prematurely ends Pastrana’s X Games weekend as he was also entered in MotoX Freestyle and Rally Car. He was also expected to make his Nationwide NASCAR debut the same weekend however that is unlikely, just like his improbable participation in Freestyle and Rally Car Racing at X Games.

The unlucky crash happened on his 2nd and final run of the Best Trick competition. He has also crashed on his first run however was not hurt. Both attempts were due a slow rotation in the three sixty portion of the trick, landing sideways with the bike landing on his right leg in both jumps.

The “TP Roll” (also known as the Toilet Paper Roll or Rodeo 720), is Travis’ latest trick which he has worked on for 4 years. He attempted it last year at X Games 16, however crashed in a similar fashion without a fracture or any broken bones but did suffer a back injury. He would later land the trick filming Nitro Circus Country Fried some months later.
